( - promoted by KathyinBlacksburg)
I just got back from the Buena Vista Labor Day parade and dueling speeches rally.
The sign wars started earlier and heavier than those I remember from previous years. The GOPs got in first (Saturday Daytime) and tried to claim ALL the prime locations. When I pulled up to the vacant storefront housing the (temporary) Democratic HQ at 7 PM, the town was already inundated with a flood of McDonnell, Bolling and Cuccinelli signs, and there were no signs up for Deeds or the rest of the ticket. I was a couple of minutes early and seemed to be the only Democrat in town...not an encouraging moment.
Thankfully, that situation, and that mood didn't last.

A complete list of Perriello's townhall meetings is HERE.
Please Go to one if you are nearby....even if you're not in his district!
I am planning on it, and you should also if at all possible!
Also, if, like me, you are in a Red held district, find a nearby Democratic Congressperson to support!
One other thought is that We COULD start showing up at GOP critter's townhalls and taking over THOSE meetings, like the teabaggers are doing to OURS.
VA 6th District and nearby VETERANS Especially Should show up at This event:

The Washington Post's "Virginia Politics" blogger Anita Kumar seems to have a short memory...even of her own blogs. Today she posted "Gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds' 20-year-old son was charged with alcohol possession May 30 for drinking at a party in his native Bath County" and included a pdf file of the proof.
http://voices.washingtonpost.c...
She couldn't connect the dots to her own previous posting:
Just a few days after Deeds' June 9 primary victory, a stranger showed up at the Bath County Courthouse, asking to review Deeds personal and legal records.
Bath is the Virginia's second least populated county. There aren't a lot of strangers there. So the young man attracted a bit of attention from the clerks at the courthouse and then from Chris Singleton, Bath's part-time Commonwealth Attorney, who just happens to be Deeds' former law partner.
Who was he? He was Republican operative Jared Wheeler, and he spent a couple solid days sifting through records in the county courthouse. Though he attracted attention, the folks in Bath said they were careful to give Wheeler everything he asked for and be as helpful as they could.
http://voices.washingtonpost.c...
Gee, I wonder who gave her the pdf file?
In the comments section seigead1:
Have to wonder, where did you get this pdf document?
Did it, perhaps, come from the Republican operatives that you, yourself, reported on so recently: http://voices.washingtonpost.c...
Why is it irrelevant, in this report, to be mentioning where you got this material?

I recently received a reply from Sen. Warner's office to my email supporting the Public Option. Below the fold is my reply.

I was interested in just who might be supporting McDonnell this year, so I zipped over to vpap.org and I thought I'd Share what I discovered. Some of these Contributors are well known, some not, so I also googled down a bit more info than vpap provides.
