No plot
was implied; curious you immediately assume I saw a conspiracy. Just sayin' that the pundits and the Republican operatives are very experienced in voter suppression, and in the past have frequently "made news" through the media to suppress the vote when it would be to the Republican advantage---- far from being a "plot," it's more like a line item in their campaign playbook.

Examples: Sometimes it involves sending the sheriff through African-American neighborhoods to intimdate voters, or sending out a mailer to Democratic areas with the wrong date to vote, or using the media to assure the public that the election is already decided, so why bother to vote if your candidate is said to be losing, and sometimes it even involves going behind the sitting President's back to talk privately with a foreign government to delay the release of hostages because Republicans will give the hostage-holding government a better deal (that particular case was indeed a plot, but it was also nothing more than all in a day's work for Republican Bush I).
