What The....? Just Another Example of What's Wrong in Richmond

I checked Lowell Feld's blog, Blue Virginia today. To my surprise, he had a post about this email reportedly sent by Don Marks, one of the head honchos of the Democratic Party of Virginia in Richmond, to certain people:

"Central Committee Members and Local Committee Chairs,

Thanks for all your hard work in 2009. As we transition into 2010, the DPVA leadership would like to hear from you about success stories and challenges on the local level. We know that the local committees are where the action happens -- and we want to get your advice before moving into a crucial 2010 cycle.

That's why DPVA staff will be coming to you for "roundtable" discussions with all the central committee members and local committee chairs. We believe it's important to take the lessons learned from this past year and refocus the DPVA towards the 2010 elections and support President Obama's agenda in Washington. So, please join us.

Please respond to this email to RSVP.

Thanks for all you do and I'll see you out on the road,

Don

I am a member of the Central Committee through membership on the 6th District Democratic Committee. Since the Roanoke meeting was held Sunday, November 22, and today is Monday, November 23, I certainly was not in attendance at the "roundtable" to discuss our "success stories and challenges on the local level."

Is there anyone out there who needs further proof of just how dysfunctional the headquarters people of the party are? And they wonder why the Organizing for America people don't want to give them confidential information!

I attended meeting (0.00 / 0)
Some of the Montgomery County Dems found out about the meeting Thursday night from our chair who received the message. He could not attend so he said that any of us who wanted to go could attend in his place. Several did, and I posted about it at democracyprevails.org if you would like to read my report about the meeting. As you can see from the post, there were 14 people in attendance plus the DPVA staff and Dick Cranwell.

what "success stories" does Don think there are to tell? (0.00 / 0)
that we held onto the surovell, keam and similar seats?

that we "succeeded" in having the worst turn out in 80 years?

that we "succeeded" in having the worst run campaign since Mary Sue Terry?

that Don and the entire paid staff at every level of the party is resigning in abject shame and mortification for the multiple failures represented by this campaign?

You Got It (0.00 / 0)
You have the "success" stories right on! The challenges? How about "Rebuilding the party yet again?"
